DIY : Clean the exhaust manifold

Sometimes your minifold looks like this (the three right). So it's time

to clean this. It's always nice to have a clean bike.

What you need :

-steel wool size 000

-Belgom alu

-Pierre d'argent

First, you must wet the steel wool with Belgom alu and of course

scrub your manifold. You will immediately see a improvement.

Dry with a rag.

Next step: wet the Pierrre d'agrent's sponge with water and once again scrub. This once you will see a huge improvement.

Bye Bye black spots, rust...

DIY: To change the oil

That's it!!! Your have reached the deadline, from 3000 km to 10000 km depends on your bike, so you need to do the service!

And as all service you must change the oil!

Here are some tips to achieve this!

Time: 30 min

Equipement: new oil

a bowl for the waste oil

a new oil filter

a new seal

a pipe wrench

a oil filter wrench

First step : you must warm up your bike for fluidized the oil so it will drain away easier! For this go a ride of 2 or 3 km. You should not do this after a ride of 300km , it will be dangerous!!

After this you put your motorbike on it kickstand.

Remove the filler cap of the oil pan for a draught.

Put your bowl under the drain cap.

Unscrew the drain cap. Wait until oil was drained away.

Clean the cap and change the seal.

Change the oil filter with the wrench.

If you have not this wrench you can use a screwdriver.

Oil the new seal of the filter before tighten. Hand tighten!

Put the drain cap and fill with new oil.

Be careful about its specifications example SAE 10W40.

For the volume check it in your booklet.

Put the filler cap and start your engine.

Wait few minute and check for a leak.

You should not throw the waste oil out anywhere !

You must bring back it at the gas station or at the repair shop

It is a race in street, authorized of course, which occure on the isle of Man ,between Ireland and England.

It is a race 60 Km and 240 turns.

The best time lap is holded by John McGuiness with 17min 12s and an average speed of 130,5 mph.

Now you are equipped to ride but you need a bike.

Choose his bike is a crucial moment for your future biker life.

The first question that you must ask you is what I want to do with it?

Go for a ride? With your girlfriend (boyfriend ? welcome girls!)? There are three options! off-road, custom or adventure touring.

Path home-work? Perhaps adventure touring or dual purpose.

- the last thing! Always go to a ride with your possible futur bike! Find any suspicious noises, any stop in the steering, any suspicious behavior... If you have doubts pass immediately your path.

First of all in this racketeering and insecure world, you must be a responsible and protected rider before start. Of course you must begin with the helmet, your main protection but not the only. If you are more a city rider than a real spirit of pilot you should focus on an open face helmet. It brings you the most sense of freedom but the least protection especially for your jawbone. In contrary, if you need a full protection choose a full face helmet. You want the advantage of each without compromise, the solution exists: the flip-up helmet. The helmet is the basic protection, if you fall, your first reaction is to put your hands. So you need also to protect it with special gloves. The leather gloves procure you insurance against abrasion but not against the impact. For this you have racing glove with knuckle and phalange protection and Leather reinforcement on the palm. In summer why do you wear a jacket, pants and closed shoes? For the same reason to wear gloves! You will never see a real rider without one of these things.
